Man injured after Perth flat attack
A 25-year-old man was seriously injured at a Perth flat last night. Police are carrying out enquiries after the assault in on Perth's Cross Street at around five to one this morning. The victim's been taken to Ninewells hospital with leg and chest injuries. His condition is not thought to be life threatening. Officers have cordoned off the immediate area around the flat to carry out investigations. Anyone in the area between half past 12 and 1 are asked to contact police.
Progress on recovering money lost in Iceland
Encouraging progress has been made to secure the one million pounds lost in the Icelandic banking system. A committee heard this morning how the issue is being pursued. But there's still uncertainty over the outcome. The money was deposited in the Glitner Bank last March, shortly before the Icelandic banking system collapsed.
Convicted killer now missing for two weeks
A convicted killer who escaped from jail is still missing two weeks on. Police in Perth are still searching for John Burt Brown. He failed to return from home leave to Castle Huntley. The 57 year old was jailed for murder in 1976. Police say the disappearance is out of character.
