Man arrested over pensioner robberies

A 38-year-old man is expected to appear in court later in connection with two robberies in Perth. Last April, a pensioner was hospitalised after being knocked to the ground and having her handbag stolen. A similar incident happened last Thursday on Uist Place. Police have confirmed a man's been arrested after a lengthy investigation.

Roadshow shifts up a gear

The second week of the Driving Ambition roadshow shifts up a gear in Perth. Tayside Police and fire and rescue service have been in the area visiting schools to teach youngsters about safe driving. They've also been teaching pupils how to pick a good driving instructor and choose their first car.

Charity seeking volunteers

The Perth branch of the Samaritans charity is desperately seeking new volunteers. They're one of many charities struggling during the recession. They offer support to the suicidal, and need volunteers to provide counselling over the phone. It comes after a busy volunteers market in Perth over the weekend.
