Chinese cannabis farm gardener jailed
A Chinese man running a cannabis farm in a Perthshire flat has been jailed for almost three years. Feng Chen will be deported when his sentence is over. 600 marijuana plants were found at a flat in Alyth last February. The 25 year old simply a Gardener in the operation, and didn't know what the plants were. He was sentenced at Perth Sheriff court today.
Town regeneration bid
Perth town centre could be in for a spruce up if a 3 million pound cash bid is successful. The council have applied for the money through the governments town centre regeneration fund. They hope to use the money for refurbishments of the Fair Maids house. They'll also use money to renovate The Cross in Coupar Angus.
Flying the flag for armed services
A special flag was raised on the North Inch this morning. It's to mark the beginning of celebrations for armed forces day on the 27th of June. A march will be held in Perth on July 7th to commemorate the armed services.
