T in the Park safety message

Police in Perth are reassuring festival goers that T in the Park is safe. It comes after two men were jailed yesterday for attempted murder at the Perthshire festival. John Tiffony and Robert Kid were both sentenced to nine years for stabbing Mark Morrison last year. Police say the incident was despicable and the festival has an excellent safety record.

Business in Perth booming

Business in Perth and Kinross is bucking the national trend. St Johns Shopping centre recorded a five per cent increase in visitors throughout May. That's despite the sharpest fall in retail sales nationwide for nine years. It comes the day after figures showed an increase in new start-ups in the big county. But Chamber of commerce president Mike Beale says we can't be complacent.

City Hall proposals not yet public

Proposals to transform Perth City Hall are still being kept from the public. It comes a month after developers Wharfeside announced a change in the contract to include the charity Artspace Scotland. The plans include a retail and lifestyle centre with galleries and art on display. But no publicly available planning application has been lodged. The council say they're still considering the revised application.
