Gang of women rob elderly men
A gang of women targeted vulnerable frail and elderly men before attacking and robbing them, a court has heard. Twenty nine-year-old Tracey Shields and twenty three year old Sara Townley are the latest of the gang to be caught in a yearlong police operation. The operation was set up to capture the group after several men were robbed of hundreds of pounds in scams by the all-female gang. Shields and Townley, both from Perth, admitted carrying out a violent robbery on a 72-year-old man, for less than £10. Shields had her sentence deferred for a restriction of liberty order report. Perthshire primary school upgrade
A Perthshire primary school will be upgraded it was agreed this morning. Councillor Liz Grant convenor of life long learning committee for Perth and Kinross council said the project was long overdue for an upgrade of accommodation at Invergowrie Primary School. Nine new classrooms are to be built and also new land for external play.
Perthshire pharmacist named best in the country
A Perthshire pharmacist has been named the best in the country. Graeme Carcary from Davidsons Chemists in Blairgowre was named pharmacist of the year at the first annual Scottish Pharmacist Awards ceremony in Edinburgh. Mr Carcary, who runs two weekly prescribing clinics was recognised for his dedication to caring for the community. Running a respiratory clinic and a long-term pain clinic he was described by judges as a truly exemplary health care professional.
