Maternity Unit at PRI is officially opened
Perth Royal Infirmary's new Midwife Unit and Women's Clinic has been officially opened. Public health minister Shona Robison spoke at the ceremony this morning. The community maternity unit moved premises in January. The 4.8 million pound refurbished unit includes birthing pools and en suite maternity rooms. Mrs Robison told Perth FM she's impressed by the new facility.
Perth Railway station in desperate need of attention
A local politician says it's time to come up with a vision for Perth Railway station. Murdo Fraser says constituents always complain about the unwelcoming atmosphere and lack of facilities. Three hundred and fifty thousand pounds has been spent on The Victorian station since 2007. But Mr Fraser says more needs to be done to improve it. He's been campaigning for changes since 2004.
Victory parade for St Johnstone
St Johnstone fans will get a chance to celebrate their teams success tonight. The team will be taking to the streets of Perth in an open top bus victory parade. Starting from Mcdiarmid at 7 o'clock, it'll visit places including Letham, Hillyland and Tulloch. Saints finished their league winning season with a four nil win against Airdrie last night.
