Golfer's kept in dark about new bridge
Officials from Perth and Kinross council are being slated by a local organization for ignoring its concerns on the new cycle bridge in Perth. The North Inch user group say they weren't consulted on the location of the connect 2 bridge which will link the park with Isla road. The bridge's proposed position has now been moved six hundred yards, meaning it will now be on the golf course. Chairman Jack McLeish says it's going to ruin the course for a lot of golfers.
Murdo Fraser's making tracks for the fair city
Mid Scotland and Fife Conservative MSP Murdo Fraser's lodging parliamentary questions, asking the SNP Government what it's doing to improve train services between Perth and Edinburgh. Mr Fraser's been campaigning for improvement to the Perth train station and rail links between Perth and Edinburgh. Today he's been asking what action's been taken to improve train services between the two cities.
He's also been enquiring for a break down of the costs of improvements to train stations in Scotland over the last three years.
More job cuts in Perth
Workers at the Vector Aerospaces Perthshire plant are having to come to terms with news their workforce is being cut by ten percent. About thirty jobs are being axed at the Almondbank unit. Senior management there are calling it a "restructuring" exercise. Officials at the plant say they’re not releasing any statements on site.
