Proposed waste site near Glenfarg


Plans for a waste site at Binn Farm near Glenfarg have been submitted to Perth and Kinross Council. If it get's the go ahead then a plant capable of dealing with sixty thousand tonnes of public waste could be created on the site. It's thought the scheme could generate enough electricity to heat and light the equivalent of around eight thousand homes.


Unemployment in Perth

New figures are revealing over fourteen and a half thousand people in Perth and Kinross are relying on benefits. The rate of the areas income deprivation is about ten percent. That's less than half the rate of Dundee. The research also shows about sixteen percent of Scotland's overall population is now classed as income deprived.

A Book written to take Perthshire locals back up memory lane has been launched in bookshops. The People's Perth is being published as part of the year long Perth eight hundred celebrations.
