Muthill takes on zero waste aims

The Perthshire village of Muthill has launched a Zero Waste Fortnight today aimed at reducing and recycling as much waste as possible so hardly any goes to landfill. It follows on from last year's successful project in Comrie, which saw the council donating money to the local primary school. For the equivalent of one tonne of waste not going to landfill, Perth and Kinross Council will give 70 pounds to the community. A number of events are planned and families have been signing up for the challenge to see how well they reduce their waste.
