Police Appeal for Witnesses
Police investigating the road traffic collision on the A9 near Auchterarder last week that resulted in the death of 16 year old Elli Williams have released an image of a vehicle they are keen to trace. The Audi estate was not involved in the collision with Elli, but did pass through the area minutes later. Officers hope that the driver and passengers might have information useful to the enquiry.
Elli, a pupil at Morrison's Academy in Crieff, was found on the southbound carriageway shortly after 10pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. She had been hit by a number of vehicles. Anyone who has any information that could assist officers with enquiries should contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222,
Dentists Call for Patients
Perth residents are being urged to improve their oral health by registering for care at the new Broxden Dental Centre. The Community Dental Service moved to the site from its previous premises at Drumhar Health Centre last November. From there the service anticipates being able to accommodate 7000 new registrations in its first year and the first patients have already been seen. Places remain available and NHS Tayside is keen to ensure as many people as possible register and Perth residents who are not registered with an NHS dentist can register by calling 450550.
Housing Development Proposal
The Perthshire town of Blarigowrie could be set for a significant expansion after controversial proposals to build almost 100 new houses in the town were backed by senior planning officials. Councillors with be given their say on the blueprint at a meeting next week. If the green light is given, 89 new homes could be constructed on land close to the junction of Woodlands Park and Coupar Angus Road.Dozens of objections have been received from local residents and the community council has also hit out against the plan.
