From flooding to dry in 24 hours
Feus Road today had nothing more than a few puddles – a sharp contrast from the day before. Tayside Fire and Rescue remained on the scene today in case residents needed additional help but found very few takers. Thanks to the help of Shell, firefighters were able to pump the water from the street into tankers who then transported it to reservoirs.Stewart Edgar, Area Manager for Tayside Fire and Rescue had nothing but praise for his firefighters, who were mobiled across Perth.
MSP visits Feus Road to survey flood aftermath
Local MSP Roseanna Cunningham surveyed the aftermath on Feus Road earlier today. Visiting in her capacity as Scotland's Environment Miniser, she spoke with Fire and Rescue personnel as well as the Council, SEPA and the Scottish Flood Forum. Flash flooding was out of the blue for an area used to worrying about river levels.
Flood Forum come to Perth to aid residents
The Scottish Flood Forum are setting up shop in Perth to help residents affected by the water. They'll be at the Fairfield Community Centre from tomorrow morning. (9am - 1pm) So far they are also scheduled to be there until next Wednesday though they expect the process to run for a few months.
