Councilor calls for consultation on Bridge

City Centre councillor Archie MacLellan has called for an open consultation to be held on the work for the new foot and cycle bridge over the Tay. Following complaints from North Inch golfers and concerns from residents he believes all opinions should be heard on the project. The Bridge is to be built following local transport group TACTRAN's lottery funding win. Exploratory drilling already began recently causing upset to those in the area.

Housing Minister visits Perth

The Scottish Minister for Housing and Communities visited Perth today as part of a series of national discussion events. Held at AK Bell library this morning, MSP Alex Neil spoke with home owners, tenants and councillors about the housing system.

MP appeals to Gov't over youth jobs cuts

Ochil and South Perthshire MP Gordon Banks has urged the Government not to cut youth jobs. The Labour representative says his party's Future Job Fund created 15 thousand jobs in Scotland. Plans are currently in place to take the funding away, and while youth unemployment in the area is 2 percent above the national average he is concerned about opportunities.
