Costs of snow clearing

Council Chiefs in Perth and Kinross have agreed additional spending of up to thirty thousand pounds a day in a bid to keep the areas snow and ice covered roads clear.
They have had to admit, however, that this situation is not sustainable and that some minor routes may not be treated at all.With further snow set to bring fresh chaos to Scotland, Perth and Kinross council is struggling to keep some parts of the region moving. At times private contractors have been engaged in snow and ice clearing as well as gritting alongside council staff.

Telephone Scam

Perth & Kinross Council's Trading Standards are advising residents of a telephone scam asking for a fee to set up the TPS.
The Telephone Preference Scheme is an opt out register for anyone who does not want to receive unsolicited sales and marketing calls. Registering with TPS Service is free and they will not call you and ask you to subscribe. Anyone receiving a call should contact local trading standards.

Morale in a box

Morale in a box is currently taking place in the Tesco Extra on Crieff Road.
Shoppers are being asked to donate none perishable items to be sent out to our troops on the front line. Robert Handy, Group Customer Services Manager, spoke to Perthfm.
