Bid for City Status

The closing date for Perth's City status bid has been set for may 27th.
Guide line for the entries have been drawn up and the Queen and a team of key political advisors will decide which settlement is to be bestowed with city status as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012.Perth and Kinross council have advised that a steering group will be establish to progress Perth's entry.

A977 Concerns

Terrified Perthshire villagers are again demanding action to stop hundreds of lorries roaring along their narrow road. Residents of Balado and Crook of Devon have seen a significant increase in traffic along the A977 since the opening of the Clackmannanshire Bridge at Kincardine. An estimated one million pounds is need to bring the road up to the standard being sought by local residents but their petition to the Scottish government has been dismissed as a council matter.
Local MSP Liz Smith has written to Perth and Kinross Council for an update regarding the situation.

Saints hopes for Saturday

Saints are looking forward to their home game this weekend against Dundee United.
Their main hope is that the weather will hold as confidence is currently running high. Boss Derek McInnes spoke to Perthfm
