Big Lottery Funding

The Blair in Bloom, group has secured a significant cash award from the Big Lottery Funds Awards for All Schemes. The grant will enable members to carry out a series of environmental improvements in a bid to enhance the attractiveness of Blairgowrie and Rattray.Each year many hours of planning and hard work go into making the area a better place to live and visit. Boosting those efforts, the grant of seven and a half thousand pounds will contribute to turf lifting and the purchase and planting of bulbs.

Public Consultation on Alcohol

A public consultation on the provision of alcohol in pavement cafes is to be carried out by Perth and Kinross Licensing Board. The consultation follows an experimental period when alcohol was allowed to be sold and consumed in licensed outdoor pavement cafes on its own. The process is part of a Perth and Kinross Licensing Board review of its policy on the provision of alcohol in pavement cafes. The Board is now consulting upon either making that experiment permanent or retaining the original policy.

Journey to Excellence for Perth Primary

Staff, parents and pupils at Viewlands primary school have chosen a new school motto.
A new working group was formed to look at moving education forward at the school and to help them on their journey to excellence.A competition was launched for pupils to come up with an original and exciting idea for a school motto. Ben Jackson of P6 was the winner with his motto Grow through learning.
