Anti-Violence Campaign

A high profile poster and postcard campaign aimed at ending violence towards woman has been launched. The initiative will see Tayside Police, the Woman's Rape and sexual abuse centre and Perth and Kinross Community Partnership work together to highlight the issue. The message featured on the posters and postcards is "drinking is not a crime, rape is". Chief Superintendent Craig Suttie said they hoped to give a "clear, unambiguous message that while drinking is not a crime, sexual abuse is."

Network of Co-operation

Those living in the more remote corners of Highland Perthshire are trying to cut costs. They’ve started a "network of co-operation" to try and reduce the high price of rural living. A report by the Commission for Rural Communities has highlighted how expensive rural living can be compared to urban dwelling, sometimes as much as 20% more. However, the research also found communities have taken practical steps, which have slashed their expenses and brought neighbours closer together. For example, ordering items together online instead of doing a 40 mile round trip is just one of the ways.
