Tayside Police drugs bust in Perth
Tayside Police drugs squad officers have recovered 26 thousand pounds of Class A drugs in Perth. In an intelligence-led operation yesterday morning in the Broxden area, the drugs, believed to be heroin, were discovered. Two men from the North East of England were arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court today. Detective Inspector Stuart Holmes, Head of the Drugs Branch, has said there will be no let up, in the efforts to tackle drugs supplies into Tayside.
Future of Perth City Hall report to be discussed at Full Council meeting
A report on options for the future of Perth City Hall will go before a meeting of the Full Council in mid-December. The report will outline possible solutions for the building which, if agreed, will be presented to the public for consultation. The Council has appointed specialist property company, Locum Consulting, to consider and provide independent advice on viable options for the City Hall. Councillor Ian Miller, Leader of the Council has said they are committed to finding the right solution.
Perth Charter to go on display for Perth 800
The ancient document that granted Perth Royal Burgh status in 1210 has been restored in time for the Perth 800 celebrations. The Charter was on show at the Council Archive today and is due to be put on display at Perth Museum and Art Gallery in an exhibition celebration life and death in medieval Perth. The conservation work has been carried out free of charge by the National Archive of Scotland in Edinburgh.
