Conservatives concerned over Beauly to Denny Power lines
Two local Conservative politicians are calling on the Scottish government to consider all new information surrounding the proposed beauly to denny power line. A debate is taking place in parliament today on Scotland's future energy needs and how it's supplied to the country. Mid-Scotland and Fife MSPs Murdo Fraser and Liz Smith believe questions still remain on potential health hazards and are asking that investigations are as open as possible. A public inquiry took place earlier this year, and was the largest in Scotland since devolution.
Stroke unit to be created at PRI
A dedicated stroke unit is to be created at Perth Royal Infirmary. PRI currently has an 8-bed rehabilitation unit for those who have suffered a stroke, but others have been treated in general wards. The creation of this new 26-bed unit will use existing estate, with the hopes of opening by December. The new facility will allow patients to be treated together with specialist staff.
